How to Prepare for this Diagnostic & Imaging Procedure
Patients must fast for 2 hours before the procedure. They should avoid smoking on the day of the test. Patients with symptoms of lung infection will have to wait until the infection is cured before the test.
We recommend making an appointment in advance. If not, the patient can approach the reception desk and ask for one. A doctor will assess your physical condition and then recommend the necessary tests.
The patient will be guided to breathe in and out through a filter in specific manner.
Elderly patients may need help from caregivers or relatives to understand the test.
Yes. Even though CT is normal, certain diseases, like Asthma, can be diagnosed with PFT.
Typically, a basic test can be done in 10 minutes. If advanced tests are required, it may take upto 45–60 minutes.
