How to Prepare for this Diagnostic & Imaging Procedure
A Patient should remain fasting for at least 3 hours before the Stress Test. Only after confirming with their treating doctor who has advised the test, they might need to stop Beta Blocker or any other heart rate reducing drugs for at least 24 hours before the Stress Test.
Inform the front desk staff seated on the ground floor and visit the ECHO department for the test. It is important to carry previous medical reports and the doctor’s prescription.
For the Stress Test, the leads will be attached to the chest area, and the patient will be guided to walk over the treadmill machine while the ECG is being recorded. The treadmill speed and elevation is typically changed every 3 minutes. The test is stopped once the target heart rate is achieved or if the patient experiences any significant symptoms such as chest pain, giddiness or breathlessness. Stress ECHO is similar to a Stress Test. Additionally, an Echocardiogram is done along with an ECG recording.
Stress Test and Stress ECHO are fairly safe procedures and are done under the supervision of our expert technicians.
